New sculpture process

I was having problems keeping my sculptures light but still strong I think I may have found a solution. I make a wire armature, cover it in Great Stuff spray foam, carve the foam back a little, then cover the whole piece in plaster bandages and finish it with a bronze patina. With the first couple of sculptures I made using this process I feel like I might have used too much foam and had to trim back and waist too much.

The top sculpture is with a patina and the bottom one is without a patina.

  1. Wow, very raw and distinctive sculptures. Differnt style, authentic rather. I wander what inspired the shapes particularly and what you are personally expressing or sharing...Not need to answer, i am a fierce believer in making my own interpretations come alive...It is some good stuff. Ty for sharing.
